along with Brave New World, Lord of the Flies and so on. I say nasty, because they left me so empty although I guess that they were meant to.

I have to agree with most of what Cricket wrote. I'm still not sure about the OBL part though. When I think about us being able to get him if we really want to, I think about people who dissappear in this country, such as children and such and how often they don't turn up for years. But then again, I think that he likely can't go anywhere without the help of someone...since his evil face is engrained on nearly everyone's minds. You WOULD think that someone in his evil empire would crack. Then again, I wonder if the reason we haven't picked him up (if indeed we can) is that the fear is to have him in custoday would make things worse for everyone, and from what I have read he is largely a figure head at this point anyway.

I was never comfortable with Iraq either. I think that I agree, that we would have been better off to go after OBL more. I pray that my husband never has to go there.

Sometimes I wonder what the point of getting into these conflicts is, if it isn't for what we are told. I know there is a lot of debate about Pearl Harbor and some believe that the government knew it was going to happen and I have heard did nothing to stop it, to get this country to rally around us getting into WW 2...but the fact is, Hilter was there and not going away, so what would have been the purpose to let it happen (other than what I mentioned above) . Either way, it would have been evil.

I know that some think that 9-11 happened so GWB could go into Iraq and that it is about oil. I still can't buy that at this point. After living in Europe as long as I did, I truly believe that there is a radical element of Islam who want us destoyed and want the whole world under their control and politics has nothing to do with it. I was living in Europe before, during and after 9-11 and I saw plenty of stuff to scare me during all that time and to this day greatly effects my opinion of things.

In the end, I agree with what Cricket said about getting our house's in order. I suppose, in the end, it doesn't really matter how it all happens, only that it will. Although I still enjoy discussing/debating the issues, in the end, I need to be spiritually and temporally ready. My dh and I are working hard to do that.
