Good luck with the allergy issues your hubby has. I am allergic to more things than I am not, including cats, ferrets, bunnies, birds, skunks, rats(although I do have 2) but my hubby cleans the cage for me! Guinea pigs, etc.. Although I have not had dog issues in the past I do think I am getting some to certain dogs. But we do have a Bearded Collie & 2 Cresties. None of them bother me at all. & the one Crestie, Lola sleeps with us every night. So no worries with her. Lola is a therapy dog & goes to several convalescent homes and also to my dental office every day. She is so calm & well mannered when we are working but if she is on a walk & sees a bird, squirrel, bunny,etc... she will try to kill it. She has a few notches in her belt this past year. a few mice & a baby possum. Nothing is safe in our yard. Our beardie could care less. In fact we put our pet rats on her back & she will walk around with them! Lola wants to eat them. Our baby, Jake, also a Crestie is starting to want to hunt & pounces on anything moving in the yard. so far it is just leaves & fuzz from the dryer! Our breeder, her males could care less and her one female who is the mom to my 2 hunters is also a hunter. Her other female is not too interested. She will watch rodents but so far hasn't killed. Lola leaves them dead, wet and by the garage door so we don't have far to go to dispose of them. Ha-ha
They truely are fantastic little creatures & I don't know how I ever got along without them. Keep me posted as to if you decide on one. I would let you hubby hang with my babies, but we are in Michigan in the Detroit suburb area.
