I was actually surprised my hubby was ok with the ferret too...sometimes he will get welts from scratches, but not always. We have a guinea pig as well, and he's allergic to him, but it's usually bearable...some days worse than others.

While researching doggies, I also ran across American Hairless Terriers...there is a list on the AHT organization's website of people who will help potential owners conduct "allergy trials" ...like, for example, send a t-shirt or pillowcase to the dog owner, who will "danderize" it and send it back so you can see how you react. Probably not a completely accurate read either, but a good starting point...

Thanks for your help though :) I will contact Roxanne and see what she has to say!
