Well, I'll give you a brief review that won't really capture the real atmosphere at Les' show in Alpharetta. My wife, daughter, and I arrived early Sunday evening and I immediately saw a few familiar faces after checking into the hotel. Joyce Haber was nice enough to be my personal informant about all things Roller while I tended to my parental responsibilities. Those responsibilities made it impossible for me to spend any time hanging with the fans, Les, and the rest of the band. Nevertheless, I managed to chat with a few of our fans by just passing through the hotel lobby. We checked out of the hotel on Monday morning and drove south to my best friend's house, dropped off Lydia and my wife there, and then my best friend and I headed back to Alpharetta to go to the concert. I noticed that the country was well represented, as always, with fans from states such as California, New York, Ohio, Minnesota, Kentucky, etc.. Les opened with Summerlove Sensation. Other songs included All of Me Loves All of You, Be My Baby, Give a Little Love, Killing the Blues, Daydream Believer, Dedication, I Only Want To Be With You, Money Honey, and Saturday Night. Though I don't dislike Daydream Believer, I couldn't help but wonder why he didn't just stick to the Roller formula and play something such as Rock and Roll Love Letter instead. Oh well, not my call. Nothing wrong with mixing things up. Just a personal wish. Stuck around long enough after the show to talk to some old and new Roller friends for a short while, and then my best friend and I headed back to his house to reunite with our respective families. Obviously, my tale lacks the enthusiasm that you would get from someone who managed to partake in all of the festivities, but I was still happy to be there. It had been a long time since I got to see any of the faces of Roller fans, so even limited exposure was satisfying to me. There are still a lot of you who weren't in Alpharetta whom I still miss quite a bit. Hopefully we'll cross paths again someday.
