I can't believe it's been five years since Princess Diana's death. I was on the phone with a friend when they told me that she had been in the car crash, and the early reports were that she was going to make it. Her injuries didn't "appear" to be fatal. (But then again, in hindsight considering it took EMS 2 hours to extraciate her, I'm not surprised that she didn't "appear" to be too terribly injured! Sorry, off my soap box!) But then, the subsequent reports told us that she did not make it. I was just curious where everyone was when they found out.

I know that I loved her from the minute their engagement was announced, got the "Di" hair cut and got up at 4:00 a.m. to watch the wedding and followed her for the next 16 years and still love her today!

I'm with you, Julz. I remember watching the wedding and hearing her goof up his name. I was at just the right age to appreciate what I thought was the "fairy tale wedding." When we were on our honeymoon, we went to Kensington Palace and one of my fav souvenirs is a Diana book I bought there. I heard the news of her death late at night on tv and I was stunned. I got up early in the morning (what the heck time was that, 2:30 a.m?) to watch her funeral which was so sad. I can't believe it's been 5 years either. Her boys sure are growing up, huh? Yep, I got up in the wee hours to watch that wedding too! I'll never forget the day of the crash....the BAGS (Bay Area Gang fans) had gotten together for the Pleasanton Highland Games...it was my first time seeing another fave Celtic band, Brother! We were on our way to dinner after the Games and heard the news on the car radio....so sad. Can't believe it's been five years already! (NT)Connie20:24:06 08/30/02 Fri
