I just wanted to wish everyone Happy Bay City Roller day. : ) Even before there was AOL or the internet, every August 24th, I thought about the day the Rollers went to Bay City and got the key to the city in 1977. I guess it's the 25th anniversary too!!!

So Keep On Rollin' babies!!!

25 years...wow. That means it's been 25 years since I saw Les, Eric, Woody and Derek at the Michigan State Fair too. I think it was the day before or the day after Bay City Roller Day, but the mind ages, ya know. I don't remember the date anymore. (NT)Becky17:42:10 08/25/02 Sun
I finally made the trip across the state to Bay City (a few weeks before BCR Day) For those of you who told me there is not much there...you were right. But, I was not expecting much. Really all I did was drive directly to the City Hall and take a few pics. One of my sweety Bill Posing on the Steps. ~{Hey....he IS Scottish}~ I knew the building as soon as I saw it from across town. (NT)Luvlee~{andmymothersaidIwouldgrowup}~2cu Part 108:55:54 09/02/02 Mon
The City Hall is a gorgeous old Place. I could almost picture the guys all standing up on the Balcony gazing across the industrial little town ...thinking "What in the......We named ourselves after THIS???". I can see the elderly towns folk & curiosity seekers looking at all the screaming fans and then gazing back up at the guys....Thinking......"D@mn,That one has funny hair." I would have loved to have been there as a young kid. I am sure the view of the crowd below made up for the lack of scenic interest for the guys. (NT)Bay City pt 208:58:49 09/02/02 Mon
I had always pictured the balcony overlooking a scenic Courtyard...but instead it was just a little asphalt road. Oh well.... while on that side of the state I also stopped by and bought a box of the famous Krispey Kremes everyone raves about. They were wonderful and we made the trip into a fun little weekend jaunt we traveled through Ann Arbor on the way home and went by an old friends house. I had a great time...and now I can say...I have been there....Next stop Scotland!!! hehehehehe.... (NT)Bay City pt 309:00:06 09/02/02 Mon
I made the trip to Bay City to "site see" in November 1977. Had the cab driver take us to the wall, which was half covered in snow. I climbed up the snow drift and prompt;y fell in, earning frostbite on my feet for my efforts. Wish I had taken a picture of the wall that day. (NT)KathyF09:25:38 09/02/02 Mon
