In my opinion, the first set are not good. The hips are loose and the ball is less than 50% in the socket. There is some bone remodelling from arthritis and the femoral head is getting mis-shapen. The right hip is worse than the left.

The second set are nice hips. Much tighter, smoother surfaces and more of the ball in the socket. I'd call those good hips.

(I'm not a radiologist, vet or expert in any way but I have seen a few X-rays in my time!) Please accept my opinion on the basis of an amateur perspective and not definitive.

Jenny
