Lee you are right I dont make every feeding in this manner. I also feed them a grinded gruel milky meat mixture for a meal. The hungry pups will get in there and eat at each meal.
With the pups you mentioned off to the side I think that a character contrast observation can be made in this instance. Those are the less active pups so they don't require as much nutritionally. In my experience the more active pups are often the hungriest at each feeding. They will get in there and hold there ground when they are hungry.

The pups are now six weeks old. IF a mom does the vomit feed I have noticed it more around weeks 3-4 when the pups are still teething. By this 6 weeks age the pups are well adjusted to eating meat and have teeth that can handle feeding in this manner.
What exactly do you mean damage already done?
