Chapter 4

Terina: "Hi?"
Talib: "What's his number?"
Terina: "Whose number?"
Talib: "Stevie"
Terina: "I'm not giving you his number so you can assault him Talib, and by the way, I'm still mad at you"
Talib: "I'm not going to assault him, I'm just going to dump him for you!"
Terina: "I am not giving you his number, I don't want to dump him!"
Talib: "You think I can't get it? I bet it's listed, I'll just get my mom to look in the phone.."
Terina: "Talib! I can't believe you're acting like this! What the hell is your problem! I love him ok? I want to be with him! Leave it!"
Talib: "What's my problem? 'OhTaliibb...he's soooo mean to me..Oh Taliibb ..he never listens to anything I say! Ohhh Taliibb he keeps telling me to shut uppp..I don't know why I'm with hiimm..I could never love someone like him' that's my problem!" Talib mocked her.
Terina: "I never said any of that!"
Talib: "I read between the lines!"
Terina: "What ####ing page were you on?!"
Talib: "Terina, why are you doing this to yourself? You don't even like him! I know you, why don't you just dump him?"
Terina(stubbornly): "I love him"
Talib: "Oh for God's sake.."
He hung up.

Terina finished up with a customer at her boring job and heard the doorbell ring again. She sighed tiredly as she looked up at the door to see what sort of difficult customer it might be this time.
She gasped.
Terina: "Lamz! What are you doing here?" he grinned and shrugged as he walked towards the counter. She ran out to him and threw her arms around him.
Terina: "I am so glad to see you..you couldn't realize" he hugged her and rubbed her back gently. She was shaking and he soon felt tears through his shirt.
Lamz: "Terina, is there somewhere we can go? Will someone cover for you?" She lifted her head from his shoulder and hurriedly swept her tears away.
Terina: "Yeah..hold on" her voice was slightly shaky. She went into the back room for a minute and then came back with another guy. He took his position near the cash register and she led Lamz to the café next door.
Lamz : "Do you want to tell me what's wrong?"
Terina: "Why did you come here?"
Lamz: "If you think I came to spy for Talib, you're wrong, I just heard you guys were having a rough go so I thought I'd come visit on my day off"
Terina: "Day off?"
Lamz: "Um yeah.."
Terina: "Talib said he'd visit on his next day off.."
Lamz: "Well, he might of gotten tied up with some interviews or something" Terina let out a hollow laugh.
Terina: "Don't lie for him Lamz"
Lamz: "Anyhow, you can talk to me, I promise this won't get back to Talib"
Terina: "Thank you.." she sniffled and wiped some tears away and then took a sip of the hot chocolate Lamz had gotten for her.
Terina: "How can you stand him?" she finally blurted.
Lamz: "Talib?"
Terina: "Yes! He's such a careless jerk! Really, I find a guy I love and all he can do is criticize! I was there for him through everyone of his bimbos..but for me? No! Of course not!"
Lamz: "It's not like that Terina..hes just worried about you, but you know Talib. Not exactly Mr. Let's Talk About It..He comes across rough around the edges, but you know he cares about you. He wants you to be happy, and to be out of harms way and he doesn't believe you are with this guy. You can't blame him"
Terina: "Don't tell me you've taken his side!"
Lamz: "I haven't taken any sides! It's just well, it was kinda weird, one minute you wanted to dump this guy, the next you're loving him..you have to admit" For a second she looked frightened and vulnerable, as if she were about to tell him everything that was bothering her, but then she shut herself to him.
Terina: "I was wrong about him ok? I hadn't seen the real side..but I don't have to explain myself to you!" She stood up and pulled her jacket off the back of the chair.
Terina: "Thanks for the hot chocolate Lamz"
Then she left.
