I think he'll take his time, think through strategies, define in his own mind what the mission is, listen to the generals and analyze what he's heard.

It was interesting this morning liestening to Gates assessment of Obama. Gates all but turned his back on the Bush administration and Cheney in particular, even though he served in that administration. He said he's impressed with his ability, even eagerness, to listent, ask relevant questions and he admires his analytical mind. Gates also reminded everyone that it took three months before to formulate and execute the Iraq surge.

It remains to be seen whether or not Obama's reminder to the other nations in the UN that it's not up to us to take on all these fires alone, that they're as much at risk as the US. That speech was seemingly well received but I guess we'll have to wait and see whether or not it beears fruit.

As for destroying Pakistan's nuclear sites, I hope they're not as well buried as those in Iran.
