I didn't have to get a referral to go to the back pain specialist to have injections. Didn't cost me a penny out of pocket.

I can choose whatever health care provider or specialist.

When I had cataract surgery earlier this year, it didn't cost me a dime. Between Medicare and AARP, there was no out of pocket. Same thing when my husband had pancreatities. He went in via the ER thinking he was having a heart attack. All the tests and the specialist plus the hospital were paid 100%--no out of pocket.

If you google "AARP msgazine" you can read online several articles on health care in this month's issue. There are at least 8 myths and one of them is a national health plan would mean socialized medicine.
