Buster

The Stranger

You may never understand
How the stranger is inspired
But he isn't always evil
And he isn't always wrong
Though you drown in good intentions
You will never quench the fire
You'll give in to your desire
When the stranger comes along

Don't be afraid to try again
Everyone goes south
Every now and then
You've done it why can't someone else?
You should know by now
You've been there yourself

---

The Rottweiler/Doberman mix moved smoothly through the innercity streets, his navigation flawless. In and out of the streetlamps' shadows, the black and brown hued canine dodged curious eyes, warily rounding his beats. In brief moments, the male would reveal himself completely, the grimy city light touching his ragged fur, illuminating him in the night. However, he avoided these brightly lit zones some wayward souls may have called havens. Buster followed the walls, decorated with a sundry display of graffiti, most of them quite artistic in quality yet ugly in what they were meant to represent. But dogs do not worry themselves over such petty details. The alley mutt preferred the defensive company of the grungy brick walls despite the urban poison slashed upon their facade.

Midway up, midway down ears twitched as the darkened eyes of the stranger landed upon the frame of an unfamiliar bitch. Aging he was, with gray hairs creeping steadily upon his rich meal hued muzzle, but that did not prevent Buster from leaping upon a dumpster with scary ease. (Though, he did have some help from some crates below). He stood tall upon his vantage point, gazing at the brown and white specimen below him. Bathed in darkness, the Rottweiler cross raised a lip, revealing a dangerous fang. And also he growled, a deep growl used many times before. And not always to merely warn, but this was just that: A warning. It was also a greeting, strange though it may seem.

The streets can be are always cruel.
