Pens may write on paper
But the feeling of what's written
Can't be manifested by words
Which is why I stare at this paper for hours
With hundreds of things in my head
Bursting with ideas of what I want to write
But those thoughts lose their meaning
When put into a fluid motion of the hands
Once transformed into ink on a page
An epic tale of two broken hearts
Isn't a memory so much as a tale
There are 26 letters in the alphabet
They may form words
Of joy and loss and compassion
But only a fool would think that
The word love could
Accurately convey the emotion
Because we can all define love
And write it into texts
But only a few can explain what it feels like
To have a broken heart

Ginger-colored bitch rose into a half sitting-half standing position as the stud approached, not sure if he was a threat to her or not. Chocolatey eyes stared into his, never once hesitating or flickering elsewhere. She wasn't sure what to think of him yet, he was infact quite puzzling to her. But then again, what unknown things were not? The unkempt conditions of his coat and the weathered look to his body made him appear as if he was getting older and wasn't as lively anymore. But his eyes appeared otherwise; they looked as if they contained many secrets tucked away and hidden underneath. The low growl wasn't unexpected, she was used to it. Other residents of the alley liked their space, as if they thought it was theirs. They were thoroughly mistaken and she was one to let them know it. Yes, she appeared timid and submissive and that was her nature somewhat, but not to all. She wasn't one to be pushed around. Soft growl was returned back to the stud, a reply to his warning but at the same time, a returned greeting.
