A friend/coworker paid me a compliment today! She asked me if I had lost weight since I looked thinner to her. I told her I had stopped weighing myself almost two weeks ago because the scale was driving me crazy, but I said my cloths seem to fit the same. It was very nice of her to say that. But I am not sure if she said it because I looked thinner to her or she said it to be nice to me. She sees me often at the gym working hard! Anyway whatever her reasons it was very nice of her to say that and it has effected me in a very good way, I am very motivated to continue my exercise routine.

Now on to new thing to try tonight, I tried Yoga. A friend of mine has been doing Yoga for couple of years now and has been saying lots of good things about it. My body is very inflexible and I am very interested in trying to change that. I have been looking for a solution and anything I have read suggests trying Yoga and Pilates. So I asked my friend if I could borrow one of her Yoga DVDs. She brought it for me today and I tried it. It was a very good DVD. There are four performers, beginner, intermediate, advanced and very advanced, which we can select from. I selected the beginner and the moves were reasonable for me. I have plans to try the beginner segment a few more times and then advance to intermediate. The program lasted about an hour. In the first part the emphasis was on breathing. This part lasted about 10 minutes, I think. Then it advanced to stretching, I think for little over 40 minutes. And then it went back to relaxing poses and more breathing. I liked it a lot. It was very soothing.

I made a new WW recipe tonight. It is Cream of Broccoli, very easy and it came out great. One serving, 1 and ¾ cups only 2 points and very delicious and satisfying. Here is the recipe:

Cream of Broccoli Soup

Prep Time | 14 min
Cook Time | 20 min
Level of Difficulty | Easy

Ingredients

1 medium onion(s), chopped
1 medium garlic clove(s), minced
2 pound broccoli, tough ends removed, stems and florets chopped
4 cup chicken broth, or vegetable broth
1 cup fat-free evaporated milk
1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
1/8 tsp table salt, or to taste
1/8 tsp black pepper, or to taste

Instructions

Put onion and garlic in a 2-quart saucepan with 1/4 cup water and simmer until onion is soft, about 10 minutes; spoon into large pot.

Add broccoli and broth to onion mixture and bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, turn down heat and simmer until broccoli is soft but still green, about 8 minutes. Do not cover pot while broccoli is cooking or it will turn gray.

Remove soup from heat and puree in batches in a blender until smooth. (Note: Be careful not to overfill blender to prevent the hot liquid from splattering.) Add evaporated milk and hot pepper sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Yields about 1 3/4 cups per serving.

POINTS

Serves | 4
POINTS per serving | 2

Next I want to try the same recipe but with mushrooms instead of broccoli.
