Thank you to both Robin and Diego for that trip down Memory Lane for those of us who might have suppressed such painful memories of both band playoffs and football playoffs.

With all the time we spent in band class itself, not to mention additional rehearsals -- before school, nights, sectionals, pre-game run-throughs, then during the games and concerts themselves, not to mention summer band -- it did feel like it was 10% school and 90% band to me.

90% band and 10% anything else?

Don't you remember that Big Daddy would frequently tell us that the teachers from all of the other subjects would come to him and complain about something that one of us had done in their classrooms, predicated with, "one of YOUR BAND MEMBERS did blah, blah, blah." It was like we had no other identity at all on that entire campus!
Guess that's what it means to be a part of something that's larger than life, huh?
