* 15 minute lunches (if we were lucky)
* practicing with the dance team on Thursdays...."Thank youuuu bannnd!!" ughhh!!!
* marching in dresses during school days. Yes, even band girls tried to look nice.
* Standing at attention and not flinching - forever - during summer band. (even though I know I'm better for it now)
* Finding *both* white gloves on Friday afternoons.
* Standing in line at the bathroom downstairs after practice.
* Although a great memory now, having your parent as a teacher in high school can dampen one's sense of mischieviousness in school, without the fear of immediate consequences.

I would add (to Kim's list) 1: the very beautiful yearbook portraits taken after marching a total of two hours before school and at lunch in 100 degree late summer heat/humidity (why did we bother wearing curlers to practice??) and,
2: changing clothes (if you didn't march in your dress) in 45.2 seconds in a sweaty, stinky practice room with several equally sweaty, stinky friends, if you were lucky enough to find one not already occupied.

All that to say, I really do have alot of great memories of being in marching band and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Nothing like former fellow band members to help you recount the cost...the price was sometimes high, but so worth it!
