Yes, as my sister Robin indicated I am definitely coming and after reading all of the latest posts I am more excited than ever. I suspect that more than a few of us will be nervous wondering whether we'll recognize our other bandmates or remembering the names to put with the faces. (sometimes I have to look at my drivers license to remember my own name, let alone people from 25 years ago!) Some of us will be nervous about whether we measure up to other's expectations, have we accomplished enough, have we weathered life's storms bravely, can we recapture some of that glory that we shared so many years ago? There are some people in particular that I want to see but ALL of the people who made up the various bands, marching, stage, wind ensembles will be special to me for what we shared and accomplished together. I have told my children of the comraderie that all of us shared as we built an organization, the sum of which was greater than its parts, which in turn built us into better human beings. They experienced some of that in their band experiences here in New England but the low level of musicianship and lack of striving to be the best surely mitigated that experience to their detriment. It seems that some of the best lessons from my band experience was to dare to dream and pursue those dreams into reality. I'm looking forward to seeing my fellow dreamers again.
I'm coming from Attleboro, Massachusetts where it has started snowing again today (aarrrgh!) and I'll be bringing my um-friend Carol who marched with the rifle corps and color guard at her school in Ohio. Incidentally she attended Ohio State University which shares the same fight song, (the melody, not the words!!)as JMHS and she's been to San Antonio with me before so she should feel right at home.

I won't be at the reunion. I was planning to be there (last August, too...but that whole reunion fell through).

My grandmother in San Antonio passed away last month (one week before her 95th birthday!). We were close. My wife and I decided to fly in from our home in California to visit her as her health was declining quickly. We're so glad we did. After 10 days back in CA, we got the phone call that she had passed away. Back to S.A. to be with family and attend the funeral service...treasured time with family I wouldn't trade.

We've been away from work a lot lately, with lots of travel, so we won't be at the reunion. I look forward to stories and pictures!

I want to mention that I was able to have lunch with CHUCK KUENTZ during one visit last month. THAT was MY REUNION and I enjoyed every moment. I don't think Chuck realizes the positive influence he was on me in high school. He encouraged me musically and personally and I'm grateful. (I hope that he will someday post about his accomplishments. I think he is doing extremely well in the field he has always loved).

Since last summer, I've been able to make contact with a few old band friends and it has been great. Thanks to Robin for this site and Mark for his organization on the reunion. I hope to attend future reunions.
