The girl didn't answer Zidane. She strode over to Shep and put her hand on his shoulder.
"I told you I was f--" Shep stopped in midsentence when he saw who it was. He stared in disbelief. "Kiana?"
The girl smiled. "Yes, it's me."
"How does he already know her?" Rikku asked.
For once, Wakka had the answer. "He's her brudda."
Rikku looked curiously at Shep. "I didn't know you had a sister..."
He only shrugged. "You didn't ask."

Around the campfire, they scarfed down the food as fast as they could, hoping that they wouldn't actually taste it. Tidus was the cook tonight, and he seemed to do an even worse job at making decent food than he was at starting a campfire.
Kiana finally broke the silence. "So where've you been for the past three years?" she asked Shep.
"Around," he said evasively.
"How did you get here with these guys, then?"
Shep only shrugged.
Kiana sighed in exhasperation. "You haven't changed a bit, little brother." She chomped down the last bite, nearly gagging, and walked off from the rest of the group.
Rikku quickly finished her "meal" and followed Kiana. "Hey," she whispered.
Kiana jumped and her hands sped reflexively towards her bow. Once she saw who it was, she relaxed her hold. "Hi." She turned away from Rikku. She just wanted to be alone...
Rikku tried to be friendly. "So what's your life story?"
"If I wanted to talk about it, wouldn't I have told it to all of you in front of the campfire?" Kiana snapped.
Rikku raised one eyebrow. "Well, sorry, Princess Kiana. I was just trying to be friendly. Maybe you should try it sometime." She walked off in a huff.
Once she was alone, Kiana couldn't help it. She started to cry. It was all too much for one day. She had been searching for Shep for years... and now, by random chance, he was travelling with these people, and she had met the one who had gotten off course...
Who were they, anyway? What were they looking for? Were they going to hurt Shep?
She knew she was just being overprotective, but Kiana couldn't help it. She was his older sister, after all.
"Kiana?" a voice said.
She jumped. She hadn't realized that she was being watched. "Umm... yeah?" She quickly wiped her tears, hoping she had before whoever it was noticed them.
"We're going to go to sleep now," the person said, finally stepping out of the shadows. It was Yuna. She looked at Kiana with an almost motherly concern. "Are you okay?" she finally asked.
"I'm fine," Kiana said, avoiding her eyes. "I just needed to be alone..."
"Are you sure?" Yuna asked.
"Yeah, yeah..." Kiana knew that Yuna could tell that she was lying, but she didn't really care. "Would you do me a favor?"
"Sure," Yuna said.
"Tell Rikku I'm sorry that I was so mean to her. I just wanted to be alone." Kiana brushed past Yuna before she could answer.
"Of course," Yuna replied, but she said it to dead air.
