We had a discussion one afternoon at the Tri-Mama retreat about clarifying consciousness. I can't tell you a lot about that conversation since my mind was out to lunch but the next day someone had their second birth and I realized the importance of that discussion then.

When I woke up I did so by sinking into a feeling of deep shame as fully as I could. I think I fell through the bottom of it because suddenly after being in it for hours I POPPED OUT into an ubiquitous liquidity where there was no me anymore, there was only liquidness. This, it turned out, was my witness awakening. My second birth came 3 weeks later when I awoke one morning to a sensation of whooshing down and out into everything. No clarifying of consciousness for me. I just popped and whooshed.

I was talking to Joe a few days ago and he was saying that these are two different ways of getting to the same place. I'm just wondering what other people's experiences were in awakening and how they might relate to these two different ways of getting here. Or not.

So how did you all wake up? Or down, as the case may be.
