Subject: Think spurs will stick with Ange until end of season, successful managers rarely move mid season, they are still in 3 cups, with lots of injuries. Iraola ticks a lot of boxes, works with young players, front foot attacking football. Frank not sure bigger teams are convinced by his style and if it translates to a champs league team. Silva maybe, but Spurs defo after a younger team which silva doesn’t favour, reckon the fave is a younger continent based coach.

  • So Marco would be on a short list. Surely that would make the Khans give him whatever he wants not just his contract but the players of his choice. Unless they're thick and content for him to walk. Which lbh most wealthy owners tend to be when it comes to a sport way outside of their zone, where everything is replacable with money. • So if he wants to spend £500m you say ok; whatever you say Marco. People have such a strange take on football club structure, managers are an employee who look after the first team, they aren’t some god like whatever they say goes. Look how Pompey turned out when directors didn’t say no and opened up the cheque book without thought for long term consequence. Maybe silva doesn’t want a long term contract and like pep at city the club and him are happy with short term deals. • It seems to me the Khans have pretty much backed this manager within the constraints of profit & sustainability. Frankly if a club like Spurs come calling & Silva is willing I doubt any amount of inducement is going to persuade him to stay. Best we could hope for is big compensation.
