It wasn't overly difficult to win the young vampire over and, hell, if helping others resulted in the same charming smile as Max gave him in exchange for the dustpan, perhaps he ought to lift a hand for others more often! But on second thought ...naw, not likely to happen... He had already exceeded his annual allotment for kindness- first for Bri, and now for Max. All in one night! Freeing him up to be a raging asshole for another 365 days!
All his silent self-approval, however, momentarily vanished with an uneasy squirm of his confidence as he was left standing broom in hand where Max left him, protest dying in his throat. Give the poor guy a break- 500 years as a carefree and carousing bachelor, employing humans to do his dirty work- he had no broom skills! He could, however, manage fairly well to make sure the broom did not walk off where Max did not want it and he stood a silent sentinal in the hallway until Max returned. And, ooo, but that cheeky smile was once again worth his efforts to guard the broom and he couldn't fight back a charmed and equally devilish grin as the redhead went about putting the broom away. Appealing, this communication of cocky smiles and shrugs! Be good, young nightmare- remember you're a guest in someone's household!
