Hello. Long time no see.

Anyway, that's an interesting point. It does seem like an important thing to leave out. I think the key to understanding why FH chose not to include it is to think about _where else_ the subject of entertainment seems to be absent--that is, the history books. The subject of Herbert's books is more along the lines of changes in human culture and civilization over long periods of time; thus, religion and politics play very important roles, as do (to a lesser extant) genetics, ecology, psychology and, of course, sex. In the interests of limiting the scope of the story to those things that affect it directly, he would have let something like that take a back seat.

Of course maybe it WILL play a part in Dune 7. Who knows?
