 I hope you all don't mind if I repost the whole thing. I have a few people who were waiting for it to be finished before they read it. Since it is *almost* finished I figured that was close enough, lol. And posting it will push me to get the last couple chapters done, instead of nitpicking at them.

With all the talk of choosing POV on the Worshop Board, I had to chuckle...the POV of this story chose me, lol. Actually I started it in first person past, but it didn't feel right so I changed it to present. I understand the arguments against using present, but for this story I liked the immediacy (is that a word?) of it. By using two first person perspectives (one perspective per chapter), I was able to get into both Michael's and Nikita's thoughts/motivations. It became an experiment of sorts. You can decide how successful I was, lol.

This story takes place after FLYF and was initially inspired by listening to the song of the same name on Dead Can Dance's Into the Labyrinth. Never imagined it would be close to 100 pages. (yikes!)

I will be sending this to Ranma to be archived before long--despite a few flaws in the story (due to my muse switching direction on me...hehehehe) But overall I've had a lot of fun writing this...and I think you've enjoyed reading it...so that's what counts, lol.
