Between the Columbia WBB and MBB programs. Coaching does matter. Meg built a winning program from scratch; Jim is another story. And yet for reasons known only to him I do not expect Pilling to make any changes. Here is what he is probably thinking: bad luck with major injuries; good backcourt talent coming back; good recruiting class; and after all in most IL games we didn’t embarrass ourselves and actually won 4 for a 6th place finish.

In the new NCAA Bracketology this morning, Charlie Creme has Lions as the third-to-last team out, the “close but no cigar” listing. Translation: they have to win ILT to get in.

Tigers remain a 9 seed, might slip to 10 if they don’t win ILT.

Are you saying a Columbia win makes it a two bid league?

That is correct. According to Creme, Princeton is a 9 seed now, independent of the ILT results. There are other at-large teams seeded as low as 11, so that is a comfortable margin of error for them to stay in.

Columbia is not at the 11+ level, so needs to win the ILT and get an AQ slot at #12 or so.
