Funny how it works. There should no longer be discussion about Princeton deserving an NCAA bid. The discussion should be about how UNLV, fourth place team in a league that got 6 bids, was neglected. Maybe the Tigers didn't seem up for post season play, they got a favorable placement, home game against a team that traveled across the country but just didn't fire.

Commies took a page from Princeton’s book, held Hsu to 3 FG, dared the other Lions to beat them, which they almost did. Good, tight game which justified NCAA decision to invite Columbia.

Speaking of "funny," it's funny how different people can look at this glass half-full/half-empty situation and conclude that Princeton validated the decision not to invite the Tigers, but Columbia validated the decision to invite the Lions.

Yesterday was not a good day for the Ivy League.

None of Cornell, Princeton or Columbia were embarrassed, nor do any of them have anything to apologize for.

But if we're talking about validating decisions, getting the respect we "deserve," and "growing the game," that means winning. And we did not.

No disrespect to the Red, Tigers or Lions, but you asked to be judged on the same criteria applied to the big name schools and that's how we're going to judge you.

I would guess a large majority of college bb fans anticipated easy victories over IL squads. (Well perhaps not P game based on last year). So, in my book, well played tight games do indeed help the overall IL brand

The real negative is these 3 games will further support the continued embargo by power conferences on scheduling IL teams

Not sure who it was who said Princeton deserved the NCAA bid over Duquesne because they beat them in November, but........
teams really can change in three months.

My two cents, I thought CU as always was well-coached and played very hard, but was bothered a lot by Vandy's length and aggressiveness. They blitzed the guards above the three point line, but also recovered well when we threw it into the high post. If they double the post, there should be someone open for 3 or a back door, but we could not find the right shot over their length. And we didn't make the shots we had.

Still a great year, but not sure CU's result will cause the NCAA to think about Ivy as a two bid league. There was a gap in athleticism between CU and Vandy that was wider than I had expected.

The lady Lions adjusted well to Vandy’s size advantage. Unfortunately our best player had her worst three point shooting game of the year, missing 9 in a row despite open looks for most of the misses. I don’t want to take anything away from Abbey’s great season and career, but sometimes things just don’t click.

I think most of us were shocked when the Columbia women got their bid over other team(s) higher on the S-curve in the eyes of the prognosticators.

I think that Columbia likely got their bid as a result of Griffith’s video plea and the committee’s clear recollection that in 2023, Columbia was the first team out.

So the committee threw Columbia and the Ivy League a bone, a very rare bone.

Post- the loss to Vandy, I doubt that there will be future such bones for the Lions.

Going forward, the only way that the Ivies could be a two-bid league is Princeton not winning the ILT and earning an at-large.

Lions have had their shot. Not by fiat, just a realistic view of how the world works.
