Subject: What is the actual case for more firefighters?

The city managers report for September indicted that there were 2 structure fires, 5 “all other fires”, 11 non fire hazard calls, 154 non fire calls for service, and 77 false alarm calls. I understand it’s the job of a union rep and higher ups to advocate for more everything, and it’s easy for council members up for re election to say it too, but what’s the actual case for more boots on the ground fire fighters? Is it just based on theory where a city of x size should have b fire fighters?
