Wonder what steps the city will take to mitigate the problems they had at this fire? If it's the "infrastructure" what plans if any, does the city have to get this issue remedied? I've lived in Newburgh for quite a while, and I have never seen the FD lose this many buildings at one fire. There were fires on city terrace, first street and areas surrounding the Lutheran st fire, and it never blossomed into several structures being lost. So I don't believe the narrative of water supply issues due to pipes feeding the hydrants, it's purely, in my opinion the lack of manpower arriving on scene in those critical minutes of the initial fire call. Maybe spend some of that conference money on figuring out a solution to why this happened, before we have another more potentially dangerous situation in hand. This fire needs to be critiqued by professionals, so that this doesn't become a norm.
