Subject: If we keep wigs as optional, then judges continue to have the "option" of judging not on the dancing, but on the wigs. Couldn't be more stupid. Force Dancers judges and coaches to focus on actual dance technique for once.

In reply to: to each their own 's message, "I hope they keep the wigs. Dd greatly prefers them. Wigs have never been mandatory. Since there's no rule saying one must wear a wig, surely we don't need a rule saying you can't wear one." on 15:27:18 09/26/23 Tue

I know several mom’s & dancer’s looking forward to attend their feis because it is wigless. We are all coming from out of region to attend. They had to change the date of their feis, maybe that has something to do with numbers being low?

[> [> [> [> [> Subject: Whatever the reason, it is still probably lower than it would have been if they had kept it in the Spring, before Naitonals. They said then that they were rescheduling due to "low numbers." My sense is that they are probably lower now then they would have been then.

[> [> [> [> [> Subject: Registered numbers for both are <50% capacity. It's less of a "vote" between a wigless vs wigs-on feis, and more a sign that families are "voting with their feet" in general as dancers leave the sport in general.

[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: I agree. And taking this thread further in this direction--this is the first time in a decade that that no-one got on this board at noon sharp to complain about no hotels being available for Os. The scramble did not seem to happen this year. Not a peep on tis board. That is the biggest sign of all to me.

We aren't far behind.

Wish there was more out there for kids that love Irish Dance but not competition.
