I’m a college student returning to dance. I’d ideally like to dance twice a week and not have to drive to the South Shore

Unfortunately you are in one of the pockets of the state that doesn't have a super local school these days. Your closest options are going to be Keane O'Brien's North Reading location, O'Shea Chaplin's Reading location, and McGonagle's Wakefield location which are all about half an hour from Salem without traffic. Goulding in Medford is about 45 minutes and the New Hampshire schools are about an hour. In my opinion, you're right to avoid south of Boston because traffic will be a huge headache. Greater Boston area schools may also be transit accessible and some schools have families or senior dancers that will pick you up at bus/train to help you get to class - definitely something to ask when contacting schools. If you're interested in having similar aged classmates, I'd start my search with O'Shea Chaplin, McGonagle, and Murray. One other idea might be to contact Petrocelli about privates, he primarily teaches on the south shore but has a Swampscott beginner class and college dancers in his school so he may be interested in helping you. Best of luck!
