In reply to: Sad mama for our region 's message, "I saw too that Br*dy was implicated. I’m just sad. Sad because I feel stuck. My daughter loves to dance and compete, and that’s why I accept the cheating. But it’s sad to see that with all her hard work it will never be fair. Never." on 12:28:44 02/14/24 Wed

A small school here or there gets a top dancer on the box, but the sheer number of dancers that WQ or stand on the podium are from schools that cheat.

Remind me why we let our children compete in this foolishness?

I really wish Competitive Irish Dance wasn't so corrupt, but it is.

Hope everyone who doesn't condone this cheating or profit from this corruption can find a way to celebrate their love of Irish Dance outside of competition.

the point is that these schools are cheating

There is no reason to answer a very defensive question of "who is an "awesome dancer you believe didn't make it to the box".

This is the point behind the post:

There is zero question that cheating is wrong. No gray area.

Many schools that are considered "successful" in the NE region have been outed as cheaters.

These facts cannot be refuted despite the effort to redirect the conversation.

To be fair, cheating calls all placements into question

No one can possibly know for sure which placements are real and which have been unduly influenced by texts/phone calls/face to face conversations.

It's a real shame, and most of all for the kids.

Adults are taking advantage of children for the sake of their pocketbooks- you have a champion, you parade them in front of everyone to build your school- more money, more championships, more money, etc. etc.

We now know that these teachers actively sought out certain placements- too bad they didn't just trust the dancers talent and training.

cheating teachers let students down

sad that they don't trust their own teaching nor their student's talent.

and because we know they cheat, they call all of their student's accomplishments into question.

on the day there are generally anywhere from 5-10 kids that could win a competition and around 20-25 that could be seen as potential WQ.

if a child dances with a school that has been called out by screenshots or by previous envelopes slipped under doors- no one trusts those placements anymore.
