Parents can choose either not to compete or they compete knowing that the organization has not made any significant changes since this scandal originally broke.

CLRG claims to be hamstrung by Irish courts and such, but there are many sports organizations outside of Irish Dance that would simply deny membership or strongly sanction/deny the ability to compete to those that they have reason to believe are cheating-end of story. These cultures aren't, as a whole, ok with cheating- no one would argue the point and anyone who might try would look foolish doing so.

Some organizations outside of ID even have moral clauses- if you are a bad seed they can cut you at will, end of story.

CLRG as a whole seems to be consistently ok with cheating on a large scale.

I'm sure there are small pockets of people working for change, but given the volume of people that are in power that want things to stay the same - and are benefitting from all of this- it is Not likely to change.

They tried to apply those new, very strict/harsh (whatever you want to call them) rules retroactively to those implicated in the scandal... They fought back in court, apparently not concerned about looking foolish, as you say, and they won. The rules could not be applied retroactively. So the unfortunate truth is, the scandal happened under the inadequate rules of the past. There's not much which can be done now. They have legal standing. But we can make changes for the future. The result of MMG's proceedings will be interesting, because those alleged infractions happened after the rule change date. New rules apply in that case.
