Red Squirrel you rock. After thinking about it I think it’s an easy crossing IF THE WEATHER IS CALM. I think almost anyone can paddle 11 miles in calm weather (3.5 mph x ~3 hours). But we’ve seen what it can be like when things turn bad. So how about we have a plan B?

Plan B
Alpha Team (us) takes the ferry out to Beaver (probably expensive) and rendezvous with Bravo Team (Zodiac Pathfinder). We could have a similar arrangement on the return trip. Bottom line = we only attempt a big crossing like this in IDEAL weather. Even so, I would encourage anyone who isn’t absolutely at ease with the trip to go for the ‘plan b’ alternative.

This is f’n nuts. I kind of like it. I’m in.
