Dear All,
The Lazy Jacks arrived safe, sound, tired and exhilarated this morning. [All except Keith who stayed on for a day or two] Even the neanderthal posturing of the brain-dead burger-flippers who operate the so-called baggage security screen at that hell-on-earth, Atlanta Airport, failed to diminish the experience we will treasure. It was truly a fantastic weekend and crowded with incidents which now form a kaleidscope of wonderful recollections [the Franklin assault which, for critical mass, was outstanding; the artillery ascent of the hill with the Pioneer Company standing by in amazement; the wonderful civilian couple who came to the "dead" camp and entertained us with the mandolin and an extremly ribald version of "Goober Peas" and, most of all, the comradeship and sense of shared purpose. All in all a sense of sadness for that which was so looked forward to now being over and a sense of great anticipation for the events to come {Even if I'm in a mess of one, I WILL be at Corinth}
Thanks to all of you who organised and participated in an astounding experience.
With kindest regards to all.
The Old Major
