He let out a soft breath of relief when she finally gave him her assurance that she would infact be coming with him when he left. A grin crossed his lips and he sat up so that he was holding her touch, hugging her to his chest as his chin rested on the top of her head, his eyes closing for a long moment as he just held her close to his body. "Och, thank ye lass. I didnae what I would do without yer companionship if ye decided nay to accompany me." Leaning back just a touch, he looked down at her, his eyes suddenly serious. "Wait..wait...we'll get back to that." He shook off her talk of demons in order to focus on what he wanted to say, one hand lifting to tilt her chin up to look at him more fully. "I vow to ye lass, on whatever color I may be, that I willnae let ye want for anythin'. Ye'll be taken care of by myself and the soldiers accompanying me and I promise ye that ye'll have yer choice of suitors if I have to travel myself and pick out a brood of them for ye to choose from." With that, he leaned in and pressed a kiss to her forehead, lingering there for a long moment before pulling back. "Thank ye for this." With that, he dropped back down to rest on his back once more, watching him carefully. "Now, demons ye say? Like the evil things from hell? I am nay sure I want one of those chasin' me around all the time." He hadn't been in the keep very long while Evie had been there, he had left shortly after her arrival and hadn't gotten to know her very well in the least. Needless to say, he hadn't had time to find out anything about a demon or anything of the like. A low breath escaped his lips as he watched her for a brief moment, raising a brow as he thought of what kind of an animal might be an extension of his soul. For some horrible reason, he was having visions of something like a gerbil or a hamster. Wouldn't that be embarassing? Aye, this is my wicked counterpart, buddy the teddybear hamster.
