I agree with you, it is ashame when a director is just down right rude and mean to a young girl. My director is always yelling at us and getting so upset at everyone. Thank goodness she is being replaced. (NT) -- When will the new directors take over. In 2005 or 2006? Can't be soon enough ., Friday, August 19, 10:02:15pm
Ditto (NT) -- That is such a true statement. Truth can hurt,, Saturday, August 20, 09:52:00am
The person who posted this post is always the one who trys to stir up posts about directors. (NT) -- Local Directors Rock, they have no agenda other than helping their girls win., Get over yourself!, Saturday, August 20, 11:34:56pm
If local directors "Rock"as you put it, then why are they so disliked and are getting replaced? (NT) -- Believe me it takes more than just one opinion to get bad directors replaced, If they are doing their job right in the first place, no one could or would have them replaced. I think the Clarks have the final say anyway so talk to them if you are unhappy., Sunday, August 21, 06:55:36pm
What a bunch of crap. Not all directors have good intentions on helping their girls win or anything else. They know who they are and all we can say to them is so long . (NT) -- There are good and bad in everything in life, the same applies to directors. They are only humans and that should say it all., Sunday, August 21, 07:26:09pm
hahahahahahaha (NT) -- hahahahahahaha, Sunday, August 21, 07:30:18pm
I think about right now is the time that you and your groupies can get over yourselfs. Funny how things work out in the end. (NT) -- Enjoy your ride down to the botton again. Things are looking up!, Monday, August 22, 10:27:12pm
It sounds like you are having a conversation with yourself. (NT) -- You are sooooo SAD!, Tuesday, August 23, 09:57:45pm
SAD is that we haad the same directors as long as we did. Too bad for all the wasted talent they ran off. (NT) -- Good-Luck to the new directors in all the different cities. Please keep in mind that these are all just teens and young women and they don;t need to be treated as puppets and a meal ticket., Wednesday, August 24, 10:59:37pm

I have a friend who is probably going to post her evening gown on ebay to try and sell it. Its a beautiful Stephen Yearick gown that cost just under $3,000...she hasn't posted it yet, but that might be a suggestion for you... (NT) -- Ebay?!, Wednesday, August 24, 01:17:07pm
Isn't that what Cassie Meyer did?? Did she get a good price for her gown?? (NT) -- S.A., Wednesday, August 24, 01:18:26pm
She didn't sell it the first time--it is relisted (NT) -- a, Wednesday, August 24, 02:04:08pm
She sold most of her clothes through ebay. Try contacting the SA director. Maybe she can forward you on to Cassie. (NT) -- good luck, Wednesday, August 24, 07:48:40pm
Yes, she sold both gowns and got GREAT money for both of them! It didn't hurt that she deserved to win both years and it was a Texas gown! (NT) -- Try ebay!, Wednesday, August 24, 02:37:10pm
Hey ya'll! Just stopped by to let you know Vanessa Segovia has listed a beatiful gown for sale on my website. Thought this would be a good place to mention it since you were on the discussion of wardrobe. (NT) -- Amy - www.amysproductions.com/theroyalrobe, Wednesday, August 24, 03:18:00pm
Amy -- do you let other pageant girls post thier dresses for sale on your website as well...or just hte North East Texas Girls?? If so, how can I contact you in order to do so?? Thanks!! (NT) -- =), Wednesday, August 24, 03:35:50pm

What kind of advice do you have for someone who's competing in a local pageant for the first time? Where do you see new girls lose points? Wardrobe tips? Get-in-shape-for-swimsuit hints? Thanks so much!

Depending on your body-type, running may either help you lose inches fast, or bulk up your muscles. Try lunges and squats w/ 5lb weights to firm up your back-side. (NT) -- CC-P, Wednesday, August 24, 05:17:27pm
Thanks again! I'm the stick figure body type, so I'm using the running to work on my legs (and more importantly, my lungs). Thanks so much for the advice!! (NT) -- New contestant, Wednesday, August 24, 05:34:52pm
I'd like to toss in my two cents here, as you sound like you're honestly trying to do this right! The main thing I've seen "new" girls not be prepared for are the pageant veterans. Some young ladies come across (to other contestants) as very polished and possibly better prepped for the pageant. As a judge, that doesn't matter to me; what matters is the young lady's ability to sparkle and shine and be herself. The minute you start comparing yourself to other contestants or let yourself get psyched out by someone, you've lost your sparkle. (NT) -- control what you can control - you and your attitude! Sincerity and fun get higher scores EVERY TIME from me. I'd rather crown a girl who's a little rough around the edges, because I trust that the director will help refine her and prep her for the next competion., Wednesday, August 24, 06:50:48pm
er, that's competition... (NT) -- sorry!, Wednesday, August 24, 06:54:27pm

Just go have fun, and be yourself! (NT) -- Chand, Wednesday, August 24, 07:28:58pm
Well, I'm going to go all hippie now, but I think that pageants are GREAT for this reason..once you start comparing yourself to other people, even in your 30s,40s,50s...you're dead...it is a POINTLESS exercise...there will always be people with more money, better looks, bigger houses, blah blah blah...but you know what, there are a hell of a lot people with less too...comparing yourself with other people will ONLY ONLY ONLY make you miserable...even if you have a 50 bedroom house, someone will have one with 100 ...JUST DON"T GO THERE...the glass is ALWAYS half full girls!!!!(Actually, sometimes I think it makes you a better&stronger person if you LOSE pageants....) (NT) -- Mrs Budgie, Wednesday, August 24, 07:36:32pm
I agree Mrs. Budgie....comparing yourself with others is useless....and many times when you're looking at others things aren't always as great as they may seem. Be satisfied with yourself always! (NT) -- Chand, Wednesday, August 24, 07:41:02pm

Subject: What is your definition of a "Pageant Patty" ...I was on another state board ...and they were discussing that pageant patty is a compliment. Meaning the girl is well polished, dressed well, etc. That's not what I think of when I think of pageant Patty. So what are your definitions?

Interesting question Chand...lots of people sure do think 'Patty' is something to aspire to, plenty of them around..some even win in certain states...?!I think the 'Patty' look basically reflects the pageant queen that USED to be successfully in the 80's to mid 90's...and some people are slow to catch up with the times (or are just in denial)....my definition of Patty?Where every feature is EXAGGERATED..hair=bit too high, bit too long...nails=always acrylic, way too long(but that's 'glamourous'...?Ahh..in 1987 it was..)..dresses=oversequinned, Christmas tree-like creations...but the WORST thing about Patties..LACK OF OPINION..all answers out of their mouths are predictable, contrived, corny and UNcontroversial..but heh, some people may see that as just having GOOD MANNERS...I think it's more modern&acceptable in society now to have an opinion though, it's not the 50's anymore where we just all smile and zip our mouths.. (NT) -- Mrs Budgie, Wednesday, August 24, 05:08:09pm
my opinion of what a patty is -- qb, Wednesday, August 24, 05:36:22pm
Okay...you two seem to have the same idea as me as to what makes a pageant patty. Personally I think it's girls that exaggerate many things, they have an exaggerated "walk" on stage. They have big hair...they appear fake on stage and in person. They lack originality. They get lost in the crowd. They look like an older "idea" of what a pageant queen is. Thanks ya'll! I've heard there are more MAO crossovers to USA this coming year. Considering how well Sunni and Alexis did this year, what are the chances of these crossovers doing as well?
