Subject: Of course I didn't celebrate Easter, but.........
In reply to: Joan 's message, "Easter Memories" on 06:48:04 03/09/08 Sun

when I was a child my next door neighbour who was a wonderful widow lady, gave me a huge chocolate bunny every year. It was solid chocolate...unlike the hollow bunnies of today. I remember hating the idea of eating it. Poor Bunny...first no ears and then...well, you know how it ends! lol

What a sweet neighbor to give you a yummy chocolate bunny.

As I child I didn't like chocolate. In my Easter basket was a bunny made of white chocolate. That was worse I disliked the white chocolate even more.
After a few years my parents gave up and put money into little plastic eggs, in my basket. When I got older I got to pick out any toy that I wanted for Easter.

He's 20, and I have no idea what he thinks of me But I enjoy making his basket. Last year he needed underwear, so I bought 5 or 6 pairs of boxers and hung them from their tiny store hangers on the basket handle. You never know what you'll find in one of my baskets. lol

Billy might get a basket until I have a grandchild. :)

Joan

PS: White chocolate is too sweet. One year my mother bought us white bunnies, because they were cuter than the milk chocolate. She agreed that they were gross. :)

Joan, I think what you did for Billy last Easter was absolutely ingenious! Something tells me that when you have a grandchild, there will be 2 Easter baskets...or 3! One for Billy, one for his wife, and one for your granchild...and then one more...and one more...and one more?? lol

somewhere holy that it's not right for ANY candy to proclaim to be chocolate, lest it be true chocolate. :) There is no such thing as chocolate BUT chocolate. That white mess is pure sugar and stuff. No cocoa at all. *Yuck* and OUTRAGEOUS!! lol

Terry gave them a hard time. At 16, 17 he would hide plastic eggs out on the back acre just to get them to hunt for them. He video taped them. He got such a kick out of it. How'd he do it? Filled the eggs with money of course. What else would have worked for a teen?!! LOL

I don't think they found the "bunny" but they surely got a wild "hare" and itched at the opportunity to hunt the money-laden eggs that had been hidden by their Easter "buddy" Dad! lol I should bring video tapes with me when I come to Calgary! Ryan would choke me. lol

Would anyone like to share old pictures of the kids. How about one of yourself when you were little?

We'll use really old pics of the kids, so no one will recognize them today.

If you can't get yours on the Net, email them to me, and I'll create a link.

Should we do Easter pictures?

Joan

Catie, Bob and I were cracking up at Terry's Easter Egg hunt. Funny. :)

If I do then I will send them your way, postage-paid return. I have the equipment to do it, I just don't know how to do it. Sorry.

Barb, do you have any of you as a kid dressed in fancy clothes. If not, any old outfit will do. :)

I have one or two of me and my sisters on Easter. Fair warning--I wasn't cute even as a kid. :)

tis a curse to be so blessed with beauty and a great body. *sigh*

My pictures of ME are not of Easter. I have but a few of me as a wee child because of a house fire. However, I do have some of my own children with their baskets.

I'd like to see you as a little kid, even if it's in a bikini. (I will have to post my bikini pic now :) ).

Billy and I are going to lunch now. If I have energy later today, I'll dig up my old pics and post them here.

if you could kindly return them to me. I'll send a small m/o to cover costs of returning them. Now I have to hunt down some decent ones...but I don't know if I have any with me "dressed up." What do you think, Joan?

That sounds great! Any outfit is fine. I bet you guys were adorable kids. :)

Pics of your kids when they were tiny would be fun, too.
