Legend of Pope Joan

Just some light hearted trivia. In 850, a woman disguised herself as a man, and sat for two years on the papal throne. It is not known whether the story of Pope Joan is true. The first known reference to her occured years later in the 13th century. Most scholars state that Pope Joan, was a medieval legend.

I heard the story on EWTN, but I never knew the name. Last night, I was looking for something on the web, and I saw this Pope Joan.

Has a nice ring to it! LOL
