Subject: Catholic fact to celebrate

Jamestown, VA is celebrating it's 400th birthday this year. It's a beautiful place--we visited last month-- and they do a wonderful job at preserving while marketing it. But it is not the first place that was permanantly settled by non-natives in the U.S.

That title belongs to little-recognized St Augustine FL.

The U.S. mainland was not first settled by Protestant or Puritan Englishmen. It was settled by Catholic Spanish.

Just thought we should remember and celebrate our Cahtolic history in the U.S
