Subject: 61.1) Lack of democracy a surprise?? Heaven forbid the popular vote should ever be a deciding factor. (After seeing how weak our dollar really is, I'm going to avoid the entire discussion of politics. Not because I'm cynical - which I am - but because I might hurt somebody!) (61.2) Bernadette Devlin was given no quarter that I could see. It wasn't her gender that drew the attention so much as her youthfulness I think. She was looked upon as such a radical in Parliament, and viewed with a jaundiced eye by most. She was almost assassinated once, and also, if memory serves, not allowed to enter the US. This was one brave gal, especially when she was pregnant but unmarried, IIRC. She was In Your Face in a big way. My kinda MP.

Unfortunately for my waist line, I tend to eat my way through stress as well as reading. Escape into somebody else's reality often helps me forget the stresses and troubles of my own. Q2) I'm generally a yeller. Quiet is saved more for feeling depressed or worn out. (NT) -- Carla, 05:36:54 10/12/07 Fri
