I really don't know why my grandparents wanted me to get my appendix out other than something about all the males in my family having it out at the age I was. My Mom wasn't too happy about it but after finding out from my dad about the family history of it she seemed ok about it. I recently looked into it and my surgery was apparently "uneventfully" according to the report I found about it. The surgein listed that it had the potential for infection with a possibility of bursting.
