Thanks for more interesting information. I now have more information to understand your story.

Still there are things in what was done that do not seem quite appropriate at a first glance.

One of these is the extent of the surgery. The explanation given looks like explaining something away.I do not believe the reason given to you for taking out so much.

The other was that your doctor and the surgion did the surgery without trying other treatments first. In the aricle it is stated that the surgery is an option if other treatments have failed.

Possibly the surgery with reimplantation was in an experimental face when it got done on you and the surgion was searching for candidates he could try it on.

But if you manage to get even more details, these may reveal an approprriate reason for said approach.
