Author: A judge should never have to wonder why a dancer is still up on stage. At a certain point there is nothing left for a dancer to showcase.
Subject: I’m an AD (not the one above) and I agree with this AD. If a dancer is going to take up a full 4 minutes from walk on to walk off, they better keep my interest the entire time..

If I see even an ounce of fatigue or tiredness or begin seeing repeated rhythms and movements in a 76 hornpipe, I am marking down this dancer harshly. It also doesn’t give me a full picture of this dancer’s skill set to do two treble jigs in the same competition. Sometimes it makes me wonder if a particular dancer can actually handle the unique rhythms of a true hornpipe.
