If I see even an ounce of fatigue or tiredness or begin seeing repeated rhythms and movements in a 76 hornpipe, I am marking down this dancer harshly. It also doesn’t give me a full picture of this dancer’s skill set to do two treble jigs in the same competition. Sometimes it makes me wonder if a particular dancer can actually handle the unique rhythms of a true hornpipe.

  - I saw one Oireachtas where in a tiny senior men's comp, the dancer in first place going into the set made a complete mess of his Kilkenny Races at 76 and dropped to FOURTH. -- Audience was in shock and dancer came off stage nearly in tears., 26/02/25 17:37:03, Wed
