Subject: I think ya'll are forgetting about how this works

There's lots of comments either strictly defending the cheats, or screaming bloody murder about every placement. People need to understand that this sport instead rides a very slippery grey area. The crux of the evil in this sport does not lie in the direct asking for certain placements amongst teachers, although I'm sure this probably still happens. This sport is like the mafia. It's a tight-knit community where the adjucators are also the teachers. This entire sport and placements are structured by the relationships between this tight-knit group. Everyone knows pretty much how every school/dancer on the circuit is placing at most majors. This makes it impossiible for adjucators to ever come in completely blind at a place like the worlds; all they are focused on is not looking like an idiot by dropping someone who is known or messing up the placements from the year before. Everyone is so focused on the cheating they forget to stop and take a look at how this is all structured. This model is bound to ride a moral grey area. Everyone has skin in the game; even if a adj is not directly cheating, they are likely clouded by the conseuqence of tanking a 'known' dancer to have that schools adj completely tank their own dancers when the time comes around. Now a lot of the known dancers are very beautiful and deserving, but some of them aren't. If you are apart of the mafia, dancing is amazing. But if you are not known you will never have a shot, and that is what makes this sport inherently unfair. Even look back on the leaked texts, one of the teachers says "we want to get her name out there"... The only way to ever fix this is to have adjucators with no affiliation to any school whatsoever. We need adjucators who just want to adjudicate.
