Once the beast was off of Lisey and pressed back enough that he couldn't take another shot at her, Craig released his grip. He shoved off the feline, taking a blow from the large paw in the side of his head. He snarled and stood his ground, head lowered to protect his neck while lips pulled fully back from blood stained teeth. He'd give the beast a chance to flee, it was only fare, but if the thing was stupid enough to press, he'd kill it without remorse.

He snarled at Lisey, warning her to back off, not to press her luck. Let it go... The voice slipped through her head like a growl, though Craig was unaware that the thought had penetrated. He'd only ever been able to communicate like that with another were, and an alpha at that. He never thought the skill was his, but the alpha's. Just one more thing that made him different from other Wolves, just another thing that made him a freak in their world.
