Subject: What does resolved mean? And Warriors final thoughts
In reply to: John 's message, "Relfection - What needs to change TL:DR" on 12/06/21 8:24pm

Does resolved mean everybody being respectful of other coaches, accepting rules as voted in (let's make sure all rules are voted in - I thought they had been but it seems not?) and the admin to Voy not removing or deleting posts?

Or does resolve mean that the balance sheet is opened up and coaches can change as they seee fit as often as they like - as long as they can argue for it successfully if need be, to whoever takes issue? (seems potentially really really messy)

I dont get the angst, I have shared that before, but it sounds like we need to vote on whether the balance sheet stays as currently is or if it in effect is done away with and we end back up at the messy spot we were before we implemented it - which was coaches being able to put players where they saw fit and if other coaches thought that wasn't within the spirit of the game, a messy argument ensued. Worse, If a coach didn't want to risk making a fuss, or risk being spoken to disrespectfully, they stayed quiet so players stayed out of position, meaning the integrity of the league suffers.

Just to be clear, below is what the rules currently state:

4.4 Once a teams balance sheet is set for the season, it can't be altered without request. Requests will be considered on an individual basis. The change will be allowed if in the AFL, the position is probable for that particular player or the player has demonstrated playing that position in at least 3 consecutive weeks.

My understanding is that some coaches don't like the idea of submitting a request, that they want to be able to do it as they see fit.

This is really what we are voting on - if a request to vote is made. To my knowledge this hasn't been tabled, or if so, not clearly or it has been lost amongst the other posts.

Regardless of the outcome, this is my final post on Voy. Simply put, I have no desire to subject myself to the types of comments and arguments that continually happen here. The main reason though is that I have lost trust in the forum due to recent posts going missing or being deleted.

PS: I assume all rules to be voted on need to be posted here AND emailed to coaches. That being the case I can still have input into these matters.

PPS: i just need to say that for me the Balance is not primarily a trust issue, but one if making things simple and fair. I think forcing an opposition coach to call out another coach on a questionable positional move is not a good place for the league to be in.

PPPS: I honestly hope that all the current coaches can stick around and enjoy the league. Obviously we all see things differently and have different personalities, but I think if we can be respectful towards each other, make sure EVERYTHING is voted on going forward AND we are willing to be gracious enough to accept the voting outcome, we can continue to be one of the best Dynasty Leagues going around

See you all on Sheets, via Email or Telegram.

- Aaron
