WOW...I will do my best to live up to this challenge. As you all know, I am on after 8pm PST, so I dont see much of the EST crew, but I will be around to help, as always. I am usually out soloing somewhere far away from the center of Norrath (WC-EC-FP) due to my lack of play time during the week (3 hours a night tops). I am up for quests or camping something on Friday & Saturday night as I have more time to work with. Please be sure to give me advanced notice. IMHO, the next quest assistance on my table is Dothar's Soulfire, especially since we failed at killing Lucan (oh so close!) over the weekend.
I agree on the guild chat content. Please keep it clean. Inuendos are ok by me ;). Outright, extensive cursing is not tolerable. For the most part, the guildies who play during my time slot are respective and at the same time talkative. I don't know what is said during the day, but I have been informed about some problems.
Kydan-
In regards to other people controlling your character:
Maybe this forum isn't the best place to address my thoughts on this issue, but I strongly suggest, as a friend and officer, that you be a little more careful when allowing others, even though they may be our mutual friends, guildmates, or your brother to control your character. In the least, they should frequently inform the guild (in guild speak), thet they infact are NOT you, but someone else. Personally, I would never allow another player, no matter who they are, to control my character. Rainik and his actions are a direct reflection of me, Christian, the person behind the keyboard. I look at every one of us as an individual, and I see a real person behind that character, not just some pixels and colors. Yes, your 'sprite' will always appear to be the same, but the personality, ability, and more importantly, the *judgement* of the player behind the keyboard will differ. I have made friends with many of you, not your animations, and the type of character you play is, in some ways, an expression of your true self (whether consciously or sub-consciously). I don't feel it is very wise to have another person (no offense intended) represent you, especially since you are the Guild Leader. Kydan's integrity, personality, and judgement need to be yours, and yours alone. How am I to respond when another guild leader wants to speak to you about a coalition, joint-raid or personnel problem and "Kydan" is logged on, but not "home"? I just don't want those who would like to talk to our leader, to talk to someone else in his stead. That is not appropriate representation of you and our guild. There have been several occasions where different people have controlled your account while you were gone on vacation or other reasons (look at Novan's post...I didn't even know he had done this!). Again, I am speaking for myself and am primarily concerned with EL's outside contact with other guild officers/leaders and their members. Of course, when I send "Kydan" a tell, I want to make sure that it is really "Kydan" that I am speaking to, as some of my tells have been and will be sent in confidence. Please do understand where I am coming from. Again, I mean no offense by any of this, but for me, these issues can bring up questions of trust.
