A quick observation on my part:
Most patrol cars are Crown Vics 96-02/03
Most Taxis are Crown Vics of the same vintage.
In any given moment on Broadway NYC there are, say 300 Crown Vic taxis and 8-10 Crown Vic police cars. (I know the NYPD experts will say the MidTown PCT cars are Impalas). Why is it that the taxis aren't behaving the same way? It appears in my un-scientific conclusion that it is the high risk situations police cars become involved in that causes the rear end collisions, then the ensuing fire. Does anyone know of a Crown Vic taxi fire caused by rear end MVA?

If this is not a valid thought process, please let me know. I would like to hear others points of view.
