Man! Just get people all stirred up again there aren't you Minor and Major?! Facts to the media is again more the way gossip is started and doesn't conclude until an actual determination is made by some group of "experts". News media reports as best it can on the available information at hand and sometimes can be twisted by an overzealous reporter. I am not classifying ALL media, just some. People who read this information (fact, fiction or otherwise) can at times be the actual culprits in spreading the fear too. Non-technical types take a situation and over-compensate for this by incorrectly stating the reports' outcomes and then in extremes allow city attorneys to sue manufacturers for things that usually are hoped to be settled out of court for some undisclosed amount of money to avoid publicity and litigation (read Black Mail!). I'm glad that Grainy is concerned and is using the board as a source of information to help educate his people. In fact, he should be commended for his thought process and caring! Please understand that I know both sides on how the media is when it comes to these situations and also the way Ford is actually working on a solution. I have to admit that I too have become very immune to these situations as the number of actual incidents are low statistically for the actual miles on the vehicle. However, that is not an excuse for not feeling grief for the victims and families of these victims-I feel the grief of these people too! Every effort should be made to correct this and any life threatening problems that are encountered for all the people that put their lives on the line every day for the citizens of their community!

Major, for your information, Ford is definitely working overtime on making improvements to their vehicle and that's a fact as I know this first hand! No fault here for Ford but definitely an improvement criteria for their ISO 14001 Audit procedures for root cause analysis of customer complaint problems. "We" meaning all of us here on this board, in the law enforcement community and in the media should work together to solve this problem as a team. We will be more successful in finding the solution. In these highly emotional situations some cool heads need to prevail! Thanks to all for listening! Sempir Fi!
