The rushing burble of the water around her fills her ears, and it takes Zrego's unintended dive into the water to alert Numi to his presence. Opening her eyes with amusement, she watches with only her nose and eyes above the water, the rest of her supple form paddling easily to hold her position in the river. Silly Korat. As he begins to turn, having obviously caught sight of her, the black sucks in a quick breath and dives strongly, touching the muddy river bottom and snagging a strong-rooted riverplant with her forehands to anchor herself as she peers upwards. Merely one of the shadows of the river now, Numi waits until the younger striped is almost over her before releasing her grip and swimming powerfully upwards.

The first indication Zrego has of her 'attack' is a solid head-butt to his stomach area, followed by a swift dodging motion that lets the glossy-furred female breach in a spectacular leap and then dive neatly into the whitewater again. However, Numi doesn't wait for a counterattack but dives deep again, holding her lithe frame at the bottom of the river and wondering if Zrego will have the nerve -or skill- to follow her.
