Subject: Did it occur to you that she might be using this opportunity to become a stronger competitor? Especially since she already has to take a gap year in Colorado.

In reply to: residency to enter Miss Colorado next year to try for Miss America 2026. 's message, "Totally correct-----but does she have a brain, it would be far easier to win Miss Colorado this next year 2025 than to try to get to Miss America by winning big Lone Star competitive Texas. Even if she goes to college in Texas just to use home-state Colorado" on 13:35:35 09/09/24 Mon

The "gap" year isn't a real gap year. It just means she couldn't compete last season because she can't crown herself if she wins. How it works is that the young lady who takes over as Miss State sits out the year she's Miss State. This is to stop girls in the smaller states (who don't make that many appearances) from assuming the title AND competing at state the same year they're "giving up" the title. As far as I know, she should be fully eligible to compete in either TX or CO this year (NT)No name
